Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 2011 (+Full Video)

I am starting to run out of adjectives to describe how passionate I am about the works of art produced by the house of Alexander McQueen. I could easily see McQueen himself producing this same collection. His successor, Sarah Burton did an amazing job!

Held in La Conciergerie, the prison of queen Marie Antoinette, the collection encapsulated both her story as well as that of Lee's. Dark eras, exhibited in the structured bondage leather tops and zippers and well as soft elegance, encompassed by the gorgeous white tulle with its hypnotic movement and fur. The heritage skirts and dresses also brought back nostalgic memories of Lee; a silhouette which if not already, will soon be a signature style for the house.

Happy new year everyone! I'm only 11 days late but I come with great news! The house of Alexander Mcqueen has release their brand new collection of accessories, including rings! Below are a few of my favorites.

Alexander McQueen Summer/Spring 2011

Sarah Burton, new head designer of the house of Alexander McQueen has in my eyes successfully proven why she deserves to be in charge of such an iconic and legendary brand. Last week at Paris Fashion Week the SS 2011 collection of McQueen was unveiled and it was nothing less than breathtakingly beautiful. Lady Gaga wears McQueen| 2010 VMA's!

When I grow up, I want to be just like Lady Gaga.Oh I don't care about the money, or the fame or the millions of dedicated fans... I just want to be able to have access to all the latest, most exclusive designer clothes just like she does!

From the golden feathers on the top of her multicolored wig to the Armadillo heels encasing her feet, Gaga dons Alexander McQueen from head to toe!  The shoes of course are the wicked 10 inchers from McQueen's SS 2010 collection and the dress (and accompanying feathers) from the FW 2010/11 collection.

What to you think of Gaga's latest getup? Fashion savvy or just a hot mess?

McQueen Resort Collection 2011

Sarah Burton, the new creative director of the house of Alexander McQueen has finally unveiled the much anticipated 2011 resort collection. This is the first women’s RTW collection completely developed without the input of the late Alexander McQueen.

Sharp shoulders, tailored torsos and lace coiffed into fine chiffon are all clearly visible in this latest collection from the British design team. I absolutely adored the cocktailed dresses with the warped bottoms and the samurai inspired shoulders. I also enjoyed the fact that Sarah incorporated some of the motifs from the McQueen Spring 2010 collection into some of the Victorian jackets.

What do you think of Sarah's first attempt as McQueen’s successor? Pass or fail?

 

XMAS IN SPRING! MY WISH LIST: SS 2010

Spring is here and there are a plethora of goodies that I just HAVE to have! Here’s my starter list....
